LOUD Realm — Legend Of the Uber Dragon
Legend Of the Uber Dragon — a fresh take on the 1989 BBS door-game era.
There was a game in 1989 that ran on BBSes. You logged in over a 2400-baud modem, you got a handful of turns, you fought some forest monsters, you drank at the Inn, you tried to kill a dragon before someone else did. You could — if you weren't careful, or if you were — die. Permanently.
LOUD is a new game that tries to earn the memory that one leaves in the people who played it. Not a port. Not a clone. Its own story, its own name — faithful to the way it felt at 2 AM on a 2400-baud connection, in amber on a CRT, when the turn budget was the most honest game clock ever designed.
What we're building
- CGA 16, CP437. Real IBM hardware-ROM font on a real canvas. Phosphor glow, scanlines, tunable — accessibility first.
-
Server-authoritative combat. Every damage number is the server's
decision, not the browser's. No
localStoragecheesing. - One shared realm. One dragon at a time. When someone kills it, the realm resets and the killer's name goes on a plaque.
- Permadeath on PvP. Restored from the original. Newbie sanctuary and a daily grief cap keep it honest.
- Mobile first-class. 40 × 25 cells on mobile, 80 × 25 on desktop. The grid is the only physics.

We post on Fridays. One screenshot or short gif, one paragraph, one link. If we skip a Friday, we say why. The Discord is where it happens first.
Devlog cross-posts, lore stories, bug reports. You'll be asked to agree to the server rules before you can post. No pressure.
